Contemporary apartment

In this apartment of modest size, my client had requested a clean contemporary design which maximized the apartment's storage space without using large bulky cupboards and armoires.
My basic idea was, first, to break down the dividing wall between the kitchen and the living room in order to create a large room with a kitchenette and, second, to use the interior walls as hidden container space. I create  a series of squares etched covered in leather.  In fact, each leather square is a hidden door behind which is a storage space that can hold dishes, glasses, books etc. 

The original two tiny bedrooms were combined into a single bedroom. Closets were built into the walls and an addition "wall" was put behind the bed to provide even more storage space and to create a dressing area. 

The other idea that allowed me to "widen" the space visually was to make the doors of the apartment appear to be part of the walls of the corridor. Making the doors "hidden" continues the continuity of the walls and creates an effect of cleanliness and order.

Both of the two bathrooms have divided basin areas and use sliding doors to separate that space from the rest of the bathroom. Colorful and large mirrors were used to optically enlarge these spaces. All the bathroom appliance are Gessi.
