Renaissance apartment
This Renaissance epoch apartment required a complete renovation, including dealing with structural problems and restoring the apartment’s ceilings and frescoes which dated from the sixteenth century.
The apartment also did not receive sufficient natural light.
I proceeded with the restoration using a team consisting of an architect and an engineer.
The basic idea was to use bright colors on the walls and in the furniture in order to give the impression of brightness and cheerfulness.
I chose the color range of yellow and orange, with touches of sage green to dampen the effect of strong colors. To this I added doors which were painted in period faux marble with a cream color.
